Steven Hauschka just signed a three year contract with the Seattle Seahawks worth $9.5 million with $3.5 million guaranteed. According to a tweet posted by his wife Lindsey, they celebrated with a bottle of Dom on Saturday night.
Lindsey Anne Jones met Hauschka while both were studying at Middlebury College in Vermont. They both graduated Cum Laud, but after that, they carried on a long distance relationship as he went to NC State and she went to Boston College to obtain her law degree.
Their romance took them around the country and even around the world. He proposed in Amalfi, Italy in 2010. They were married in June of 2011, a month after her obtaining her degree in law. Their wedding took place in Edna, Minnesota, although they were living in Seattle at the time.
She’s a huge fan of the Seahawks and everything Seattle, although she is originally from Minnesota. She’s very proud of her husband. They have no children yet, but love playing with their two pooches.
Steven grew up in Needham, Mass., and he played soccer in high school. He even played soccer in college. In 2008, he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens as a kicker, but was released at the end of the season. He bounce around three other teams, including, ironically the Broncos, before being signed by the Seahawks in September of 2011.
This new contract is great news for Seattle as he placed 94% of his kicks in the regular season and 100% during playoffs. He was a contributing factor to the Super Bowl win. So congratulations to both the Seahawks and Steven!
